  • Cover for loss or damage to your van that is caused by accidental or malicious damage, vandalism, fire, theft or attempted theft

  • Cover for any damage to your window screen or the damage to any window- Windscreen cover allows you to recoup the cost of any windscreen repairs, or even a full windscreen replacement if necessary

  • Should your van be involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, that wasn’t your fault, we will reimburse any excess that you will be required to pay should you make a claim

  • Replacement locks if your keys are lost or stolen are covered

Remember that:

  • Loss or damage resulting from incorrect car maintenance or fuelling will not be covered

  • Cover is not provided for the theft of keys that are left in, on or near the car whilst it is left unattended

  • Any loss or damage that may occur whilst the vehicle is left unattended without being properly locked will not be covered

  • Driving other cars is not permitted as part of a Budget Van Insurance policy

  • What different levels of van insurance are available?

    Just like car insurance, there are three basic levels of van insurance available in the UK; Third Party Only (TPO), Third Party Fire and Theft (TPFT) and Comprehensive.

    Third party only

    This is the minimum level of cover that is required, by law, in order for you to drive a van.It covers:

    • Liability for injury to others

    • Damage to others property

    • Liability for damage caused whilst towing a trailer

    Please be aware that third party fire and theft does not cover accidental damage to your own vehicle or property. This cost will have to be covered by yourself in the event of an accident.

    Third party fire and theft

    This provides the same level of cover that third party does with the following additional benefits:

    • Damage by fire

    • The theft of your own van

    • Damage to your van caused during an act of theft

    Comprehensive

    Comprehensive cover is the most extensive van insurance cover that is available and includes everything that third party fire and theft does with the following additional benefits:

    • Loss or damage to your own van

    • Windscreen cover

    • Personal effects cover

    • Accidental damage

  • Do I need to select commercial or private van use?

    If you use a van for business purposes, whether that’s delivering goods, holding goods or driving to and from the office you will need commercial van insurance. If you use your van to run daily errands and do not use it to drive to work; you will require personal use insurance.

You will also need your vehicle information, this includes; your vehicle registration, make and model, your vehicle use, security information and information on where the vehicle is kept day and night.
