COVID-19: Customer update

We’re currently experiencing a high volume of calls into our contact centre and whilst we are doing our very best to maintain service levels, we ask that you only call our contact centre if absolutely necessary so we can keep our phone lines available  for vulnerable customers and those who don’t have access to online services.

If you need to check any details or make a change to your policy, please  log in to your Self-Service Centre. It will be much quicker for you to make changes to your policy online at the moment. Once logged in, you can also use our Webchat service which is available Monday- Saturday 8am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm to make changes, accept or decline your renewal or if you need to let us know about a claim. Imagine coming home one evening to find that the heating has broken down, you have no hot water or electricity, or a pipe had burst. If this were to happen to you Home Emergency Assistance cover can provide you with the support you need to get your house up and running again! 

Home Emergency Assistance could help protect you, as a home owner, in the event of a domestic emergency. 

We provide a 24 hour UK emergency claims line and we will arrange for qualified tradesman to come to your home to carry out emergency repairs.

What it covers

  • Cover for plumbing and drainage emergencies including breakage of the sole toilet unit
  • Home security, including damages to locks, windows and doors is covered
  • No call out charges
  • Cover for unforeseen domestic power supply failure, including gas and electric
  • The total failure or breakdown of the main hot water or central heating system is covered
  • Cover for problems with pests in your home

What isn't covered

  • Boilers older than 15 years old will not be covered. Additionally, boilers which have not been serviced annually will not be covered
  • Limits per claim are for up to 2 hours labour and/or £100 for parts and materials
  • A maximum of £250 per claim can be made for alternative accommodation costs
  • No claims can be made within 48 hours of the policy start date
