Pricing details released
for Vauxhall New Corsavan
17/01/07
Demand for Vauxhall van insurance deals could be set to rise after
the UK-based automaker announced pricing details for its New Corsavan
model.
The Vauxhall New Corsavan, which is available to order now before
going on general sale in March 2007, will cost from £8,740
before VAT is taken into account.
This price is for the model powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine,
while motorists who would prefer the 1.3-litre CDTi diesel alternative
will have to pay upwards of £9,125 before VAT.
In addition, since both engine types are relatively small compared
to full-sized commercial vehicles, users might be able to save
money by getting a cheaper Vauxhall van insurance deal.
Despite its size, the New Corsavan can carry a payload of up to
550 kg.
This is 85 kg more than offered by its predecessor, while buyers
of the next-generation model will also benefit from a taller and
wider tailgate that is designed to improve accessibility.
Van insurance customers who are expected to be particularly keen
on the new model include businesses that do an extensive amount
of inner-city deliveries.
This is because, as the commercial-vehicle variant of the long-running
Corsa supermini, Vauxhall claims that it benefits from handling
characteristics that are comparable with those of a car.
Finally, motorists who are prepared to pay a bit extra can opt
to include an electronic stability programme and a rear-parking
assist system, which could potentially reduce the number of incidents
that require owners to forfeit their van insurance no-claims discount.
In 1925, Vauxhall was acquired by American automotive giant General
Motors (GM) as part of its business plan to increase sales in the
UK.
