Car insurance survey reveals
vehicle accessories that make an impression
19/02/07
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, a car insurance company
has published a new study that questions which car accessories
are most likely to appeal to the opposite sex.
And the survey of motoring likes and dislikes, from elderly car
insurance specialist Saga Motor Insurance, has found that almost
half of over-50s might be impressed by a vehicle accessory.
More specifically, it appears that designer upholstery is one of
the most appealing vehicle add-ons available.
Some 32 per cent admit that their heads could be turned if the
other half turns up in a car with leather seats.
Another high-specification feature that elderly car insurance customers
may wish to consider is applying to get the vehicle registration
plate to spell out a partner's name or a romantic phrase.
According to the car insurance company's poll, 21 per cent confess
that they would be impressed if their partner paid for personalised
licence plates.
Less positively, it appears that older drivers who have shelled
out on tinted windows or lowered suspension may need to have a
rethink, since over-50s admitted that these were among their biggest
turn-offs.
However, all of these pale into significance when compared to the
issue of whether a lover should display fluffy dice above the dashboard.
A resounding 98 per cent of over-50s assert that the presence of
fluffy dice would not make them more inclined to think positively
of their owner.
Specification upgrades such as leather seating may need to be arranged
at a specialist car dealership.
However, car insurance customers looking to reinvent themselves
this Valentine's Day can find low-budget accessories such as fluffy
dice at automotive retail shops across the UK.
